Johto is one of the most-loved generations, and it makes a fantastic print project — 100 designs with some of the best legendaries in the series. Here's how to tackle it.

Plan the project

Generation 2 adds 100 Pokemon. As with any big set, decide a single scale and finish up front so the shelf looks cohesive, and print your favourites first to keep momentum.

Start with the starters

Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile are rounded, flat-footed and forgiving — ideal first prints while you dial in your Johto profile. Their evolutions scale up nicely for a progression display.

The legendaries

Johto's legendaries are showpieces: Lugia and Ho-oh with their dramatic wings, plus the legendary beasts. Winged poses reward resin or a well-tuned FDM machine — tilt them and see our orientation guide.

Color strategy

Two clean routes, same as any collection: print pre-painted 3MF on an AMS for instant color (see the AMS guide), or print single-color and paint. Ho-oh in particular pops with a rainbow multicolor treatment.

Because Johto and Kanto share the same era and art style, they display beautifully together as a 251-figure collection.
