Find a design, read its DMC key and keep your pattern files organized.
Choose your design
Extract the downloaded pack and open its included gallery if available. Public website samples are small watermarked previews; use the purchased chart to stitch.
Use the chart and its own color key
Open the full chart and its matching DMC key. Match the chart's numbered symbols to that key, not to screen colors. Different designs can use different keys. Check the stitch dimensions before choosing fabric and allow extra fabric for finishing.
Check the supplied format
Some collections supply PNG charts rather than PDF charts. Use the formats listed for your pack. When printing, check legibility and page scaling before committing to the full design. Thread, fabric and other physical supplies are not included.
